1Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to ParentSignal, operated by ParentSignal.io, a company registered in Israel ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ParentSignal platform, website, and services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, accessing, or using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ParentSignal. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2Jurisdictional Scope

ParentSignal operates internationally and complies with the laws of multiple jurisdictions:

• United States: We comply with applicable U.S. federal and state laws, including but not limited to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other relevant regulations.
• Israel: We comply with Israeli law, including the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, and regulations issued thereunder.
• International: We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area, and other applicable international privacy and data protection laws.

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and applicable local law, the applicable local law shall prevail to the extent of such conflict.

3COPPA Compliance and Children's Privacy

ParentSignal is designed to help parents and legal guardians monitor their children's social media activity for safety purposes. We take the privacy of children seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States and equivalent regulations in other jurisdictions.

3.1 Parental Consent Requirements

By using ParentSignal to monitor a child's social media accounts, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the parent or legal guardian of the child whose accounts you are monitoring, or you have obtained verifiable consent from such parent or legal guardian.
• You have the legal authority to consent to the collection, use, and processing of the child's personal information as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
• The child is under your legal care, custody, or supervision.
• You have informed the child (as appropriate to their age and maturity) about the monitoring being conducted.

3.2 Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create a ParentSignal account. Our Service is designed for use by adults who are parents or legal guardians. Children should not create accounts on ParentSignal.

3.3 Information We Collect About Children

Through the monitoring service, we may collect and process the following information about the children being monitored:

• Social media usernames and profile information
• Comments, posts, and media content from monitored accounts
• Following and follower lists
• Age (as provided by the parent/guardian)
• ID verification documents (securely stored and encrypted)

All such information is collected solely for the purpose of providing the monitoring service to parents/guardians and is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

4User Accounts and Responsibilities

4.1 Account Registration

To use our Service, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You agree to update your information as necessary to keep it accurate.

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Immediately notifying us of any unauthorized access or security breach

4.3 Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Monitor accounts of individuals without proper parental/guardian authority
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Use the Service to harass, stalk, or harm any individual
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

5Third-Party Services and APIs

ParentSignal uses third-party services and APIs to provide our monitoring functionality. By using our Service, you acknowledge and agree that:

• We utilize third-party data providers to access publicly available social media information.
• We use AI and machine learning services to analyze content for safety concerns.
• These third-party services have their own terms of service and privacy policies.
• We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or reliability of third-party services.
• Access to social media data is dependent on the terms and availability of these third-party platforms.

We do not store your social media login credentials. Our monitoring is performed through authorized API access to publicly available information and user-authorized data.

6Data Retention and Deletion

6.1 Data Retention Periods

We retain your data as follows:

• Account Information: Retained for the duration of your account, plus 30 days after deletion request.
• Scan Results and Alerts: Retained for 12 months from the date of creation, unless you request earlier deletion.
• Child Profile Information: Retained for the duration of your account or until you remove the child profile.
• ID Verification Documents: Retained for 90 days after successful verification, then securely deleted.
• Log Data: Retained for 90 days for security and troubleshooting purposes.

6.2 Data Deletion Rights

You have the right to request deletion of your data at any time. To exercise this right:

• Delete your account through the account settings page, or
• Contact us at daniel@parentsignal.io with a deletion request

Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain information.

6.3 Data Export

You may request a copy of your data in a portable format by contacting us at daniel@parentsignal.io. We will provide the data within 30 days of receiving a valid request.

7Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our Service, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

8Subscription, Billing, and Refund Policy

8.1 Subscription Plans

ParentSignal offers subscription-based access to our Service. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable subscription fees and any applicable taxes.

8.2 Free Trial

New users may be eligible for a 7-day free trial. No payment information is required during the trial period. If you do not subscribe before the trial ends, your access will be limited until you subscribe.

8.3 Refund Policy

Refund Eligibility:

• First-time subscribers: Full refund within 30 days of initial payment, no questions asked.
• Annual subscriptions: Pro-rata refund available within the first 30 days. After 30 days, you may cancel but no refund will be issued for the remaining period.
• Monthly subscriptions: You may cancel at any time. Refunds are only available within 30 days of your first payment. Subsequent monthly payments are non-refundable.
• Renewals: Automatic renewals are non-refundable. Please cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid being charged.

8.4 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us at daniel@parentsignal.io with:

• Your account email address
• Date of purchase
• Reason for refund request (optional, but helps us improve)

Refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days and credited to your original payment method.

8.5 Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon cancellation:

• Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period
• No further charges will be made after cancellation
• You will retain access to view historical alerts and reports during the remaining paid period
• After your subscription expires, your account will revert to limited access

8.6 Exceptions

Refunds will NOT be issued in the following circumstances:

• Account termination due to violation of these Terms of Service
• Requests made after the 30-day refund window (for first payments)
• Chargebacks or disputes filed with your payment provider without first contacting us
• Service interruptions caused by third-party platforms (e.g., social media API changes)

9Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by ParentSignal and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

10Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

10.1 Service Provided "As Is"

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.

10.2 Nature of the Service - Alert Tool Only

You expressly understand and agree that:

• ParentSignal uses AI-powered analysis which may produce false positives or false negatives
• The Service may not detect all harmful content, predatory behavior, or dangerous situations
• Social media platforms may limit, change, or restrict access to data at any time
• The Service cannot prevent harm—it can only alert you to potential concerns
• Active parental involvement, open communication with your children, and professional guidance are essential and cannot be replaced by any monitoring tool

By using ParentSignal, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your child's safety and that our Service is intended to supplement—not replace—your parental duties and judgment.

10.3 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PARENTSIGNAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers
• Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code that may be transmitted through the Service
• Any errors or omissions in any content

11Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ParentSignal, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including privacy rights
• Any claim that your use of the Service caused damage to a third party

12Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, except where superseded by applicable local law in your jurisdiction.

12.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may pursue formal dispute resolution.

For users in Israel, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo. For users in the European Economic Area, disputes may be resolved in the courts of your country of residence.

13Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
• We may delete your data in accordance with our data retention policy
• Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the account settings or contacting us at daniel@parentsignal.io.

14Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by:

• Posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last Updated" date
• Sending an email notification to the address associated with your account

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

15Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

16Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other legal notices published by us on the Service, constitute the entire agreement between you and ParentSignal regarding your use of the Service.
